Los Montesinos is a small Vega Baja town that has kept its own life. It is Spanish first and residential second: a weekly market, a handful of bars around the square, and a fiesta calendar the whole town turns out for. The residential district of La Herrada sits just outside it, quiet and low-built.

What buyers come for is space and calm within reach of the coast. La Herrada is a grid of detached villas and town houses on flat, walkable streets, most with a private pool and a plot large enough to sit out on. There are no apartment blocks and no through traffic.
Torrevieja and the beaches are a ten-minute drive, and the pink salt lake of La Mata — the Laguna Rosa — is closer still. The lagoons make this stretch of the Vega Baja noticeably drier and milder than the coast itself, which is the reason the area has long attracted buyers who find the coastal humidity hard going.
Golf at La Marquesa in Rojales is a few minutes away, Alicante airport around forty. Day to day the town covers itself: supermarket, pharmacy, health centre, school — none of which is a given in a settlement this size.
