San Miguel de Salinas stands on a ridge above the Orihuela Costa, high enough to see the salt lakes of Torrevieja on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. It is a working Spanish town rather than a resort, surrounded by golf courses — Vistabella, Las Colinas and Campoamor are all within a short drive — with the beaches 15 minutes downhill.
Property in San Miguel de Salinas
The altitude is the point. San Miguel sits about 80 metres above sea level, which means summer nights are noticeably cooler than on the coast and the views run for kilometres. Buyers who dislike the density of the seafront developments come here for space: larger plots, quieter streets and a town square where the shops serve residents rather than tourists.
Our listings are led by bungalows — the local format, usually two or three bedrooms in a gated complex with a communal pool — alongside villas, apartments and penthouses. Prices start around €179,990 and reach €1 million for a detached villa, which makes this one of the better-value municipalities in the area. Popular addresses include Cerro del Sol, Residencial Los Flamencos and VistaBella Golf.
The beaches of Torrevieja, La Zenia and Campoamor are 6–10 km away, close enough for a daily swim but far enough that you are not paying seafront prices. Alicante–Elche airport is about 45 minutes, and the Zenia Boulevard shopping centre — the largest in the province — is ten minutes down the hill.
